1. Authentication & Headers

Machine-to-Machine API Keys

All automated requests to SignExact endpoints must supply your organization's secret key in the x-api-key or Authorization: Bearer header. You can also supply x-organization-id to restrict machine operations to a specific tenant.

POST/api/documents

Upload PDF & Ingest Envelope

Uploads a raw PDF agreement, registers recipients with unique 256-bit signing tokens, and records the genesis SHA-256 hash.

POST/api/documents/:id/fields

Define Field Coordinates & Dispatch

Configures field locations on the PDF and optionally dispatches email invitations by setting markAsSent: true.

GET/api/documents/:id/download?type=completed

Stream Sealed PDF & Certificate

Streams the completed, digitally sealed PDF package including the embedded X.509 PAdES detached signature and 2-page Certificate of Completion.
